Going on a hiatus

Dearest Lich King,

It pains me to declare that in view of the upcoming project deadlines and school exams, I will be laying off dotA for the next 3 weeks.

You have served me well against the AI. You hit max level on several occasions and truly, you were beyond godlike. I could not have been more proud of you.

However, you screwed me up big time while we were playing 5 on 5. Despite me splurging 500gc to accessorize you with a pair of Boots of Speed, you moved at a speed so ridiculously slow that even a snail would have been terribly ashamed of you. Perhaps in your defence, you seem to have very heavy bones which could have reduced your agility, but all i know is because you were so f*cking slow we easily got pawned a dozen times in a single game. not withstanding the fact that your chainfrost was slow as hell and most melee heroes could finish you off in 3 miserable hits. your slowness serves no purpose at all in compensating this player's innate delayed reflexes. Maybe we're just not compatible.

On the bright side of things, I will most definitely be back. Perhaps I'll choose you again. Or perhaps not. According to reliable sources, Crystal Maiden, who is a much prettier and the sentinel version of yourself, happens to be a lot more mobile. So it appears she might make a better choice for me instead.

But for now, its time to say farewell. Please take gd care of yourself and stop getting f*cking pawned.

Regards,
Prominence

Happy New Year

This may be a little late, but a happy new year to all!

My new sheets for the new year. (Pardon the creases, i'm a messy sleeper)

New sheets can be a little annoying, since we typically take about 2-3 months to completely season a bedsheet. So begins the whole process of rolling around, scratching, rubbing against, stomping around, bouncing on.. and anything else one would do to transform the brand new scratchy sheets into one that oddly feels and smells like us again.

Music for the Soul

A picture of my miserable piano that's being confined to dust most of the year.

My favourite pieces are from the classical and romantic era. Contemporary pieces are tolerable ONLY in jazz, perhaps like the one in De-Lovely's soundtrack 'Just one of those things'. Fabulous piano in the background.

Dont really know if this is true, but i came across an article which proposed the theory that people who have a musical background tend to be better in mathematics. :D

An Interesting Read

Came across this in a case study, Leadership Online: Barnes & Noble vs. Amazon.com written by Harvard Business School:

One noted Amazon customer, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates, summarized the company's [Amazon.com] appeal as follows: "Time is short and they have a big inventory and they're very reliable." According to Bezos [founder of Amazon.com], "Those are three of our four core value propositions... The only one Gates left out is price: We are the broadest discounters in the world in any product category. But maybe price isn't so important to Bill Gates."

And there was also this:

On the same day, it [Barnes and Noble] also filed a lawsuit against Amazon challenging its claim to be the "Earth's biggest bookstore." According to the suit, "Amazon is not a bookstore at all. Rather, it is a book broker making use of the Internet exclusively to generate sales to the public."

Thought it was pretty hilarious.

New year, New blog

During the revamp, all 138 past entries were discarded.

I guess moving-on-without-u does sound somewhat bitter huh. Admittedly, this blog was originally created with the intent of documenting my life following the demise of my previous relationship.

A year passed.

And we've moved on.

Yet the blog address stays, because relationships and ex-boyfriends arent the only things people leave behind with the passing of time.

Memories, regrets, and even friends, are just some of the things which have quietly slipped out of our lives while we weren't noticing.

But we'll move on nonetheless. So this blog address is in fact, still very relevant.

There won't be any private posts here, most of my personal (and very boring, i assure you) rantings are now done on my personal site where only a few gd friends have access to.

What i think might do here is to post up some pics which i've randomly snapped. i'm no photographer so do pardon me if the quality isnt up to standard yea?

see ya ard!
